2.3.3.5 Sequence Replicators

Replicators generating basic COSY sequences are of two types:

Concatenators

which generate consecutive regularities are of the form:

Imbricators

which generate regularities nested within each other are of the form:

where p,t,q denote arbitrary strings of macro terminal symbols, and sep denotes the separators ``;'' or ``,''.

The non-terminal sreplicator producing sequence replicators is defined as follows:

R(1) and R(2) are examples of replicators according to rule M11 and R(3), R(4) and R(5) are examples of replicators according to rule M12.
