The Resource Allocation and Stochastic Systems Lab is generally
concerned with the analysis and control of distributed systems
operating
in random environments. Current projects include work in the
interaction
of routing and scheduling policies in distributed server systems,
stochastic models for the performance evaluation of legacy system
migration, scheduling Hadoop systems, replication in service oriented
architectures and fundamental work in queueing theory and related
stochastic modelling frameworks. Recent efforts have addressed resource
allocation problems in the design of data centres. Much of this work is
performed at the Computing Infrastructure Research Centre.
