Assignment 8
- Due: Monday November 10, 20:00 through WebCT
- Goals:
- Review of specifications
- Details:
- This continues to build on previous assignments.
For this assignment, you are to do review (inspection,
walkthrough) 2 specifications from other people, as
well as reflect on your own. More specifically, using
the sample questionaire in section 4.1.2 of the
courseware as well as the guidelines of section 4.1.3,
inspect both given specifications, and write a report
outlining all your findings (with explanations). Be
exhaustive: even indicating that the assignment was
handed in using format X where clearly the assignment
specified format Y is legitimate. If the specification is
very flawed, then clearly explain this (ie clearly enough
that, if given back to the author, they could use your explanation
to unambiguously fix their specification), but do not try
to then give a detailed review, as this would be a
pointless exercise. Also,
give a personal value judgement as to whether you believe
that, given that specification, you would have been able
to implement the code (given enough time) in a manner
that the author of the specification would have recognized.
Once you have done this, comment on your own specification
(what you could have done better, where yours still is better,
etc).
- The project description along with
previous assignements provide all the necessary information
you need to
complete this assignment successfully.
- At the bottom of this assignment,
please find your userid. Next to it will be links to the
files, exactly as provided by another student,
containing the sets of specifications you are
to review.
- Deliverables:
- One zip file "MUSS ID".zip containing
one Word document "MUSS ID".doc as well as 3 .zip
files (the two you were given for this assignment as well
as your own set of specifications, the most recent version).
- A plain text file, log.txt, containing a log of
what you did; most important for this assignment is logging
all conversations (or lack thereof) about this assignment you
had with other students, TAs, the prof, etc.
