CS 4WW3: Web Systems and Computing (Winter 2014)


This course is an introduction to the world wide web as covered by topics in networks: protocols, clients/servers and social issues; programming systems: markups, scripts, styles; platform technologies; www services: standard systems, databases, and security issues.

Course work will include assignments, a midterm, and a final exam.

Prerequisites: COMP SCI 3MH3 or 3SH3. Completion of COMP SCI 3C03 or 3CN3 is recommended.

Textbook: The required textbook for this course is "Programming the World Wide Web" (7th edition) by Robert Sebesta. It is available at the McMaster University bookstore.
