Course description
Computer number representations and floating-point arithmetic;
sources of numerical errors; subtleties in numerical computing;
accuracy, efficiency, robustness, and portability
of numerical software; estimating numerical errors; specifying
and testing numerical software.
Format
Lectures, individual projects, and presentations.
Grading
Grade is based on the correctness and thoroughness of
the project and presentation.
